Virginia Sleep Specialists is a comprehensive sleep disorders center dedicated to the management of snoring, obstructive sleep apnea, other sleep related breathing disorders, narcolepsy, periodic limb movement disorder, restless leg syndrome, circadian rhythm disorders, insomnia, parasomnias & REM behavior disorder.
Our Physicians
A Virginia native, Jonathan Gellman, MD was born and raised in Hampton Roads. Dr. Gellman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and completed medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He continued his medical training at EVMS in both Sleep Medicine and Family Medicine where he served as Chief Resident. Prior to completing his Sleep Medicine Fellowship he worked in private practice Family Medicine treating patients of all ages.
In his Sleep Medicine Fellowship, he conducted research on CPAP use during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Hampton VAMedical Center. He is currently faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Gellman enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. Dr. Gellman started a medical clinic in Haiti after the earthquake and has visited the country over 10 times.
